On Tuesday, 7 March 2017, MG (Ret) Pat Sculley, the Foundation’s VP for Development, accepted two ceremonial sabers from representatives of First Command at the Museum. The sabers are replicas of circa 1840 US Army sabers carried by US Army Surgeons on the General Staff from that era through the Civil War. International Hotel Group supports Foundation goals On June 29th, 2016 representatives from Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) made a $2000.00 donation to the AMEDD Museum Foundation. IHG, an international hotel group that manages a number of worldwide hotel brands such as Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites, has contracted with the Army and Lendlease (the hotel owner group) to manage on-post lodging at Ft Sam Houston and 40 other Army posts in the US.
