Foundation purchases artifacts for the Museum

William Emerson Medical Insignia collection added to Museum Seizing a rare opportunity to enhance the AMEDD Museum’s artifact collection, the AMEDD Museum Foundation recently completed the purchase of the William Emerson medical insignia collection. Foundation conducts quarterly Board of Directors Meeting

On Friday July 29, the AMEDD Foundation Board of Directors held its quarterly meeting. Conducted by Foundation Chairman, BG (Ret) Dan Perugini, highlights for the 36 attendees included updates by the Executive Committee on the Capital Campaign, recent donations and bequests, special projects, and new additions to the Board of Directors. Foundation accepts IHG Donation

International Hotel Group supports Foundation goals On June 29th, 2016 representatives from Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) made a $2000.00 donation to the AMEDD Museum Foundation. IHG, an international hotel group that manages a number of worldwide hotel brands such as Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites, and Candlewood Suites, has contracted with the Army and Lendlease (the hotel owner group) to manage on-post lodging at Ft Sam Houston and 40 other Army posts in the US. Foundation Supports 2016 Best Warrior Awards

Museum Foundation awards prizes to MEDCOM 2016 Best Warriors   Specialist Victor Galvez and Sgt. First Class Ilker Irmak, both from the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, were the winners of the 2016 Best Warrior Competition held at Camp Bullis, Texas May 2-16, 2016.  Among the prizes awarded to SPC Galvez and SFC Irmak were replica 19th century Hospital Steward knives from the Museum Foundation.
