WWII Motorcycle Exhibit Opens – Oct 2019

The Museum recently opened a new exhibit highlighting a 1943 Harley Davidson SLA motorcycle that was used by the US Army in various roles in World War II. The exhibit’s setting is Caratan, France on 13 June, 1944 during the Battle of Bloody Gulch after the Allied invasion of Normandy.  The exhibit displays the motorcycle as the transportation mode of a 2nd Armored Division Soldier in France.  The injured rider is being treated by a […]

Foundation says Farewell to Samantha Popejoy

On 3 May 2019, the Foundation bade a fond farewell to Grant Writer, Samantha Popejoy at the Quarterly Board meeting.  Beginning her work at the Museum as a Graduate Intern in Museum Science, Samantha quickly made herself at home getting to know the staff and the Museum.  Her bright personality, quick grasp, and innovative ideas were soon to have positive impacts across the Museum.  As her Internship came to a close, the Foundation employed her […]

Neel Award Ceremony for 2018 winner

On 3 May 2019, the Foundation Board celebrated the 2018 Neel Award winner at a ceremony in conjunction with the Quarterly Board meeting.  Vanessa M. Schulman won the prize for her essay entitled “J. J. Foundation establishes COL Basil Pruitt and COL Beth LaNoue Memorial Funds – 2 April 2019

The recent passing of COL(Ret) Basil Pruitt, Jr and COL (Ret) Beth LaNoue inspired the AMEDD Museum Foundation executive committee to establish memorial funds in honor of them both. The funds donated in honor of Dr. Pruitt will be used for an exhibit of the advances in medicine flowing from his work at the Army’s Institute for Surgical Research, and the committee’s donations in honor of Beth LaNoue fund will be used to support ongoing […]
